Gocta Waterfall
Attractions & Activities in Chachapoyas & Kuelap
A well-known feature to locals for centuries, the existence of the Gocta Waterfall wasn’t made known to the world until 2005 when a group of explorers stumbled across it while on expedition.
Ranked as the third tallest waterfall in the world, the Gocta Waterfall stretches to a height of 771 meters (2,530 feet). The waterfall is located just outside of Chachapoyas in the Peruvian Amazon.
There are a variety of hikes and horseback riding tours to the falls, allowing you a chance to take in the view from numerous vantage points. It’s a truly stunning and scenic experience in the heart of northern Peru’s Amazon cloud forest.
