When to travel to Bolivia? Bolivia’s climate is defined significantly by its topography, even moreso than by the changing seasons. The Amazon, Andes, and Altiplano of Bolivia make for some fairly drastic temperature and weather differences depending on where you are and when. May through to October is typically the best time of year to visit Bolivia as it’s the dry season where skies are blue and the ability to move about isn’t likely to be hindered by flooded roads or bad weather. Not to mention, the hot and humid Amazon region becomes a little less hot and humid, with intermittent periods of cooler weather due to cold fronts that blow up from Patagonia. For those travelers who are interested in hiking or any other outdoor activities, it is recommended to avoid traveling to Bolivia during the months of January to March. In this period, landslides, flooding, and fog can often make for dangerous trails. The drier winter months are most certainly the best time to travel to Bolivia and enjoy its many climates and scenery.
