Up close and personal with exotic widlife

When Darwin came to the Galapagos, he was immediately struck by the unique, indigenous species – such as marine iguanas and giant tortoises – that only exist here. But that isn’t all that he noted; he was also intrigued by the accessibility of the wildlife, who seemed totally unperturbed by his presence. So much so, he marveled, that you could even sit on them, as he proceeded to do with a giant tortoise. These days, not much has changed.
