Adventure Activities
Attractions & Activities In Lima
Sometimes, when you’ve got a predilection for adventure, exploring by foot or on car just won’t cut it. How about hitting the saddle instead? Lima’s Miraflores and Barranco neighborhoods are particularly suitable for cycling and Kuoda knows not just to provide not just the bicycles and the requisite safety gear, but also an experienced guide to lead the way. Some of the best routes to pedal along include the bike paths along the clifftop Malecón parks. Cruise through the grassy expanses, pause for ice cream and to take in views of Lima’s Costa Verde cliffs from the saddle.
If you want to take things up a notch, consider surfing on the beaches in and around Peru’s capital. Beginners should make a beeline to Miraflores district, where several well-regarded surf schools, such as Olas Peru and Pukana Surf School, can get you up to speed with the basics. If you’ve already found your surf legs, graduate to the bigger waves of the beaches further south, such as La Herradura, Punta Rocas and Cerro Azul.
If, after all that, you’re still hungry for high-adrenaline thrills, perhaps it’s time to give paragliding a go. You’ll be strapped to an instructor for this 10-minute tandem ride and will take off from Raimondi Park. Few things can match the rush of soaring through the sky beside coastal cliffs with the wind in your hair, swooping over the tiny people and stunning ocean scenery below.
