Originally built in 1621 as part of a Jesuit monastery, the Casa de la Libertad is now one of the country’s most prize monuments. Among the most interesting exhibits are the original signed independence declaration and the remains of Juana Azurduy de Padilla, a female military leader and heroine of Bolivia’s fight for independence.
