Welcome to Colombia
You will find us waiting for you when your international flight arrives in Bogotá. Look for the Kuoda sign with your name and the smile. We will escort you to your hotel, check you in, and help you get settled. You’ll then be able to rinse away the feeling of a long flight and enjoy a good night’s rest!
Bogota City Tour
Visit Paloquemao market, abundant with fresh food and flowers, and offers a great insight into the life and customs of Bogotanos. La Candelaria is Bogota’s heart and soul, from its humble beginnings this is the oldest part of the city and the Plaza Bolivar (Main Square) are high on any visitor’s agenda. The Square is the focal point of this historic part of the city.
With your guide the next stops will be the Gold Museum. The Museum is within the premises of the Banco de la Republica, and is one of the finest collections of Pre Hispanic gold in the world. This is a “must see” when in Bogotá, with more than 35,000 pieces of pre-Colombian gold works in the collection. The golden raft is one of the focal point of the display and was the driving force in the Spaniards quest to find El Dorado.
Flight to the Coffee Region
This morning we will escort you to the airport for your flight to Armenia in the coffee region.
For many people, this is the heart and soul of Colombia, its cultural epicentre. With every turn, a spectacular panorama changes your perspective, from the rolling hillsides of fertile coffee plantations to plunging valleys and bold elevations. Staying in one of the many fincas or haciendas provides an opportunity to get a feel for the areas ambience and harmony and a great place to rest after a day exploring.

Exploring the Coffee Region
Today’s tour tour takes in the culture of the coffee region along with the stunning natural beauty of the Cocora Valley. We take you from the far northeast of Quindío to the beautiful Valle Cocora where the magnificent Wax Palm grows, in one of its few natural habitats, then onto the settlement of Filandia.From Filandia you will drive to the Valle Cocora (Cocora Valley). Part of the wider Parque Nacional Los Nevados, the valley is located on the eastern limits of Quindío along the central Andean range. It has a unique landscape like a lush version of a Swiss valley and has been regarded by Colombia as a sanctuary for its national symbol; the Wax Palm (Ceroxylon quindiuense).
Flight to the Coast of Colombia
This morning you will take a flight from Armenia to Santa Marta (via Bogota), from where we make a road trip to Tayrona National Park. The park sits at the edge of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range, the highest coastal mountain range in the world and stretches over 35 miles from near to Santa Marta in the West to Rio Piedras in the East. The national park is everything you could want from a picture post card beach location. Palm fringed beaches and golden sand that stretch out in front of you. This tropical beach paradise has a back drop of lush green rain forest.
Tayrona National Park
Your guide will meet you this morning, as you pass through the main park entrance and checkpoint and continue for an additional 10-20 minutes along a rough gravel track to the end of the trail. From here it’s time to get your walking boots on and get ready to hit the coastal paths. For those who prefer a more sedate pace horses can be arranged to carry you or your bags.
Tayrona National Park
There is no better place to relax and listen to the calming rhythms of the waves than Tayrona. As you sit on the white sands of Cañaveral imagine what is behind you. A biosphere of tropical and deciduous forests, a population of nearly 26,500 indigenous people form tribes including Koji, Arhuaco and Wiwa, and the world’s highest coastal mountain range!In front of you the Caribbean ocean with its well preserved coral reef, bays, inlets and to the side an extensive coast of fine beaches and scenery. Time can be spent relaxing on the beach or in a hammock, or wandering the beach and jungle trails, a true picture perfect beach paradise.
City Tour of Cartagena
Your guide will meet you this morning, as you set off to explore the vast history and beauty of the city of Cartagena. You begin with the Castillo San Felipe, the largest Spanish fortification in the Americas, which dominates the old town. Underneath this amazing structure you will find a labyrinth of tunnels. The sun soaked fortification seeps tales of old for every traveller and the tunnels (some of which are lit and accessible to visitors) and its ramparts are a living and breathing history book.There are few things more romantic than an early evening traditional horse and cart ride along the cobbled streets of Cartagena’s old town, winding along the lanes with colonial buildings rising around you spilling their balconies of flowers and a cooling Caribbean breeze.
A Day at Leisure
You will have plenty to keep you occupied with a free day in Cartagena. The city is an attraction in itself, but there are also plenty of local shops to occupy even the most ardent shopper. If you fancy a good walk (or taxi if you don’t) a trip down to the beaches of Boca Grande will let you soak up some sun and see how the locals enjoy their city coastline.
Flight to San Andres
Providencia, also known as Old Providencia or Providence, is the smaller of the two principal islands that form the Archipelago; Old Providencia is more mountainous than its bigger neighbour, San Andres, and is preserved as a national park.
Declared a national park in order to protect its obvious natural beauty, the mountainous and verdant Providencia is inhabited by fewer than 6000 people. The island has a wealth of riches in pristine beaches and diving opportunities. Far more laid back than San Andres, one does not visit here looking for thumping nightlife or bars.
A Day at Leisure
You can spend these days relaxing on one of the great palm fringed beaches, taking a buggy ride around the island, hiking to the highest point of the island (el Pico), diving or snorkeling in crystal blue waters or simply chilling out and taking in the rhythms and style of one of the Caribbean’s most traditional islands.
Return Home
At the appropriate time, we will bring you to the airport for your journey home. Your host will help you to check-in to your flight and wish you buen viaje!
