Peruvian Adventure
We were made aware of Kuoda Travel by someone we know and chose them for all of our Peru travel arrangements. We were not disappointed. We visited the rain forest, Cusco and Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Puno, and Lima in our two week stay in Peru. We were extremely well looked after, had excellent guides, great accommodations, excellent ground transport, and we just had to enjoy ourselves. We would recommend Kuoda Travel for anyone interested in visiting Peru.
Everything up to Expectation and More!!!
My friend and I booked a private tour to Peru in early June with Kuoda after reading the many raving reviews online. We were extremely happy with everything that was arranged and organized by the company from the minute we arrived until the last day we returned home.
All our tour guides, drivers, and hosts were extremely attentive and took great care of us all along the way. Because of not so pleasant weather on our 1st day upon arrival at Machu Picchu, we made last minute request to delay our departure so we could spend more time at the site. This required an exchange of our train tickets on a Sunday afternoon when the ticket office was not opened. Our request was being dealt with efficiently before 8 a.m. the following day and we did not even have to lift a finger. Our tour guide, Santiago, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history and we learned so much from spending 5 full days with him. On the last day in Cusco, the owner, Mery, even purposely came down to our hotel to meet and greet us. Our trip was so unforgettable not only because of the amazing sites we visited, but also because of Kuoda’s exceptional and outstanding customer service. I have no reservation in recommending them to anyone interested to visit Peru. My sister and I are planning to visit Easter Island and will definitely use their service again.
P.S. While on my trip I carelessly left behind a special brochure given to the Hiram Bingham train passengers from Cusco to Machu Picchu. After I returned home, I mentioned to Marina who helped book the whole trip for us. Not really expecting anything, I was pleasantly surprised when Marina emailed me a couple of days ago telling me that they have sent a replacement copy via email to me in Canada. If this is not exceptional customer service, I have no idea what else would be! Thanks again Kuoda for everything!
Kuoda is the way to go!
We usually like to schedule our own trips and activities when we travel as we enjoy the process but when we decided to do our bucket list trip to Peru and Machu Picchu we thought a guided tour was best to keep the stress low and enjoyment high. We looked at three different operators but decided on Kuoda. What a great choice! They might not have been the cheapest but when you look on Trip Advisor their rankings are off the charts and I can attest the rankings are well earned. We had zero issues on our trip and everything was seamless. We were on a private tour with our family of four and did an adventure trip since we had two older boys with us (18 and 21). Their was never a time anyone was late picking us up, we always felt safe and well cared for and Kuoda always went the extra mile to make sure we had a great trip.
We even met the owner, Mery, in Cusco who checked in on us and gave us a gift to thank us for using her company. Nice touch! Kuoda picked great hotels, wonderful guides (most are free lance who contract with Kuoda and i think this attracts high level guides). They helped us from start to finish as the planning piece was great and we customized the tour to exactly what we wanted. It was a good mix of adventure activities and cultural/historical activities that let us experience the country.
We did the Paracas/Ica area first (Nazca lines, dune buggies, sand boarding and Ballestas islands). We then headed to Cusco and the Sacred Valley for hiking, white water rafting, mountain climbing, Ollantaytambo, market at Pisac, alpaca farm, mountain biking, salt pans and of course Machu Picchu. We then headed back to Cusco to tour they city and finally flew back to Lima for a day in the city since most flights out are late at night (1 a.m. for us). Mery and her team at Kuoda are top notch and I highly recommend them as well as going the private tour route rather than a cattle call group. You will have some group activities like the mountain climbing/zip lines but these are through separate businesses that Kuoda arranges with however these were still pretty small groups. If Peru is on your travel list definitely look at Kuoda to manage your trip!
Great vacation!
We planned our trip with Theresa and it was so much easier than expected. Everything we did including Lima, sacred valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco was planned perfectly. Our guides were top notch and the whole experience was wonderful!! Highly recommend Kuoda!!
Fabulous company
Kuoda planned our 20th Anniversary trip to Peru absolutely perfectly. Email communication with Celine was thorough and replies were prompt. She asked us loads of questions and helped us organise our perfect trip over the course of weeks and months. She even helped us with what to pack and which immunisations were required. Upon arrival in Lima we were met at the airport and escorted to our hotel (even though it was right across the road) and again in the morning and taken to check-in for our first internal flight. The flights, hotels, trains, cars, meals and excursions were all planned and executed flawlessly.
Daniel at Refugio Amazonas showed us wildlife we had previously only dreamed of seeing and answered all of our questions. Our guide in the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, Jose Carlos was knowledgeable and friendly. His tours and demonstrations made our holiday much more worthwhile and we learned loads about the Incas and Peruvian way of life. The drivers were completely safe and were always there, waiting for us, exactly where and when they said they would be. All of the hotels we stayed in were spectacular in their own individual way. I would not hesitate to recommend Kuoda as they are a truly fantastic travel company. Thank you. You gave us the trip of a lifetime!
